About Us
Stree Sakhi Charitable Trust is a non-profit organization founded by Manisha Kanekar in India with the aim of empowering women and children. The organization was established in 2004 and since then it has been working towards providing a better future for vulnerable women and children ever since.
Today, Stree Sakhi Charitable Trust has become a leading organization in the field of women’s and children’s empowerment in Mumbai and suburb. Through its various programs and initiatives, the trust has helped thousands of women and children from marginalized communities to improve their lives and build a brighter future for themselves and their families.

Providing education, healthcare, and vocational training, Stree Sakhi Charitable Trust aims to create a more equitable and just society where all individuals have the chance to thrive and reach their full potential.
Our members
Team
Manisha Kanekar’s inspiration to form the trust came from her own personal experiences of witnessing the struggles of women and children in her community. She noticed that many women lacked access to education and job opportunities, which led to a cycle of poverty and limited opportunities for their children. In addition, she saw that many children lacked access to healthcare and basic necessities like food and shelter.
Driven by a desire to make a difference, Manisha Kanekar founded Stree Sakhi Charitable Trust in 2004. The organization began by providing basic education and health care to children from low-income families, but has since expanded its services to include vocational training for women, healthcare services, and community outreach programs like building dams in the village area, organizing fund raising programs, production of organic vermin compost fertilizer etc. and many more.
